This place has a great appeal in that it is constantly changing. I've been thinking I should take photos weekly of one particular space to show how there is forever movement in our stock...... Keep your eyes out on here for that! Customers are always complimenting on the place never being a bore and there is always something fresh to see.
I'm loving the new Spring Stock entering the stores with some beautiful Bright Pink Garden Chairs currently gracing our front section of the shop. These will be perfect on a Verandah or even inside (other colours are also available so check out the Furniture category of the Website) Oh my...... It has come as a shock to me to realise I haven't entered anything in this blog spot since January! Where has this year gone?
A great deal has happened since I've last made an entry and we've had many a great new estate lots aswell as some new additions to THE BOTTOM DRAWER FAMILY. What once we used to call our library is now filled with some top of the market pristine Antique pieces many dating from the Georgian Period and is certainly the place to start if looking for a high end, sought after Antique Piece. We are currently pricing a huge collection of fishing memorabilia which will be gracing our store in the next week. There are some very rare reels amongst this lot and we are well worth the visit for a fishing collector. Phew.... We really have started the year with some sizzling days!!! Another stinker today with the maximum forcast at 40 degrees. The Peninsula has been full of holiday makers and weekend day trippers heading down to frollick in our beautiful beaches. We have had many customers dropping in after a day of BBQ's and days at The Races. Mornington Races having a couple of Race meets last week and the famous Balnarring Picnic Races is running today.
Its been all go, go, go leading up to the Christmas Period with people searching around for personal Christmas gifts for their loved ones and our internet sales also have been through the roof.... Definately showing us, online shopping is a sign of the times. AS the last day of Winter draws to a close, I must say I am looking forward to the lighter evenings, warmer weather, bbqs and getting out in the garden more. My house is due for a Spring Clean and what better time to come in a see our new INDUSTRIAL Furniture Range for a decor freshen up which is arriving by the pallet, weekly. The stock has been super popular and the shows like 'The Block', 'The Renovator' etc have been showing people how to be creative with the Vintage and Industrial Range which is ever so 'NOW!'
Hi everyone!
I'd like to introduce our newest addition to The Bottom Drawer Antiques - KH has just arrived last week and is now residing in the 'Long Room North' of The Bottom Drawer Antique Centre. He has the most amazing Vintage Poole Pottery Collection for sale I have ever seen along with some great Australian Pottery. The Australian Pottery consists of some Large Campbell Pieces, a wonderful Large William Ricketts piece and some signed Boyd family pieces. Along with his pottery collection he has also some Top End Australian Cedar Furniture, so if you are looking for a chest of drawers we certainly have a large range available at very reasonable prices. Don't forget if you are after a certain piece please don't hesitate to contact me so I can email you first with any new arrivals. Well winter has arrived and has been a huge shock to our systems. It has been all go here at the Bottom Drawer with lots of rearranging and new dealers arriving. We have been inundated with new store holders wanting space and have reshuffled to accomodate dealers who cater for the upmarket cliental along with the collectable market. Our WINTER SALE is still underway and we've had a new shipment of Victorian Pieces and the delivery of a RARE AUTHENTIC FULL WAGON which is available for viewing in Somerville.
The Antique season has approached us and it is the perfect weather for organising a day trip to the Antique Capital of Victoria. So be sure to pop in and say hello. I would like to announce the arrival of our Store Mascot and Guard Dog - 'RUFUS'. He is ever so cute and has wonderful puppy breath. He has been a wonderful quick learner of great customer service and will be keeping us company most days, so come in and say hello.
I've been busy reducing stock ready for our HUGE Once Yearly sale. There has been massive price reductions on heaps and heaps of items and is definately worth coming in and checking out. I hope you all had a safe and happy Easter! Easter brought many people in from far and wide and we had wonderful feedback on how much fun our store is to browse through, along with many customers saying how shocked they were on the size of the store.... (It is very very deceiving from the front and is a maze of rooms) We've had some fantastic new shipments of Cedar and White French Provincial Furniture which have been displayed in many of the current home magazines (ours are at a margin of the price) and the website has been a hit with customers being able to purchase from interstate. I have just placed another order so will be hopefully getting more stock in next week. It won't be long before we start the open fire roaring. So keep warm and I hope to see many of you soon. :) Summer has now left us for another season and what a crumby one it was! Mother Nature certainly took it's toll on both Aus and NZ and to be honest I'm glad to see the back of that ruthless time. Fingers Crossed the rest of the year will improve and the victims can start rebuilding their lives.
2 Pallet loads were delivered at the end of last week and I've had a busy time, photographing, measuring, pricing and displaying the fantastic Home Decor pieces. The Cedar Lanterns are really a eye catcher and have been walking out the door due to their resonable price. (I've grabbed a few for my own outdoor area). We've also restocked the Life Size French Provincial Mannequins which are available in 4 styles and 2 different colours. So don't hestitate on these as they sold out very quickly last time and at only $95.00 each they will be snapped up. I'm very excited to have obtained an Extremely rare Hand Made 16th Century style Chastity Belt which has been displayed Nationally over the last few months by Melbourne artist Sophie Ferriroli to exhibit in our showroom. The piece is completely hand fabricated and is made out of mild steel with Gold Inlay of 23K Goldfoil, Sterling Silver, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel. It has been adorned with 7 x 11mm Synthetic Rubies and has hand forged chains. It is held together with handmade working padlocks and keys. It is really is an amazing piece inwhich I feel extremely thankful to be showing in our store. Her shows included Erotica -James Makin Gallery and at Forge. This piece will be next exhibited in Buda Historical Gold & Silver Smithing Awards in June 2011. So come down to our store before then for a View. $POA. See below for photos! Check out http://melbournejeweller.wordpress.com/category/places_to_learn/nmit/ We hope to see you visit soon or if you live interstate or far away, please contact me for our really reasonable postage costs. (don't forget most items can be posted for Aus$10.00 within Metropolitan Melbourne) |
